Volunteers hosted a fundraiser to collect much-needed items for families affected by the explosion in East Harlem earlier this month.
The Bronx Angels and El Museo del Barrio hosted the drive, taking in everything from clothes to canned goods and blankets.
Organizers say they wanted to do their part to help the victims put their lives back together.
"We're doing a drive today to help the displaced families and give back to them and let them know that they have our support and we're here to help them get through this difficult time,” said Scarlet Santana, co-founder of Bronx Angels. “We're acting as the brothers and sisters of the victims. We have a common ground."
Those who donated also got a chance to win a raffle for prizes like jewelry and gift certificates.
