The state says that more than 1 million New Yorkers have applied for health insurance through the state Health Exchange.
The numbers come with the 2014 enrollment deadline looming at midnight Monday.
The Department of Health says that a little less than 800,000 of the 1.1 million who have applied have actually enrolled in specific coverage.
The department says that more than half enrolled in government-funded Medicaid, while the rest went with one of the 16 commercial and nonprofit insurers.
According to the White House, more than 6 million have applied nationwide.
Those who have started but not finished the application before Monday can get an extension.
