The White House says that the Affordable Care Act is reaching its enrollment goals.
The administration says that more than 6 million people have signed up for private health care insurance under the act.
The first enrollment period closes in just three days.
"We've reached more than 6 million enrolled in the Affordable Care Act, which is a great milestone," said Cecilia Muñoz, a White House adviser. "But more importantly, there are three days left. We want to make sure that we reach everybody that we can."
During his trip to Italy Thursday, President Barack Obama shared the new enrollment numbers on a conference call with thousands of health care workers helping with signups.
However, a new Associated Press poll indicates that only one-quarter of Americans support the overhaul.
