NY1 Assistant News Director Shannon Troetel was among several women recognized Friday for their outstanding work in a variety of fields.

The awards ceremony was hosted by the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce in observance of "Women's History Month".

NY1 Anchor Cheryl Wills did the introduction.

"It's my pleasure really to introduce to you my boss, actually. And she's not here because she's my boss. She's here because she's exceptional and worthy to be acknowledged and recognized," Wills said.

"I've been working in the broadcast news industry for over 20 years and it's been exciting to see more women in leadership roles. It's, again, such an honor to be recognized as part of the Greater NY Chamber's Women's History celebration," added Troetel.

Public Advocate Letitia James was among the other honorees. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
