The big top has returned to Citi Field where Cirque du Soleil is putting on its latest show there.
"Amaluna" is different from the 31 Cirque productions that came before it.
The show celebrates women. It's directed by Tony award winner Diane Paulus.
She says she hopes to bring a unique theater perspective to the circus atmosphere.
"And the great discovery was these circus artists that are in the show they were dying to be actors, they were dying to play characters and to be challenged. And they ate it up, everything that I could feed them they were thrilled to soak in and make their performance even deeper emotionally," Paulus said.
Cirque du Soleil's "Amaluna" is playing at Citi Field through May 18.
