Newly released figures from the U.S. Census offer insight into population changes in and around the city.
Brooklyn leads the way in population growth across the whole state, with more than 23,000 people arriving in the borough between July of 2012 and 2013.
It maintains the highest population of any county in New York, with more than 2.5 million residents.
Close behind in growth is Queens, adding just over 20,000 people.
The Bronx added close to 11,000, while Manhattan added 4,800.
Later this year, the Census will release data that will offer some insight on economic activity in the five boroughs.
