Renovations are set to begin Monday on the Henry Hudson Bridge's Manhattan-bound toll plaza.
Two narrow toll lanes at the plaza will be merged into one wider lane.
Once the work is complete, cars driving across the bridge in the center lane will feed directly into the new wider lane.
It's part of an effort to improve traffic flow now that a toll-by-mail program is in place for drivers who don't have easy pass.
The change will eliminate the need to switch lanes before the toll plaza at the last minute.
The work is expected to be finished in three weeks.
