A Queens man is facing multiple charges after police say he hit a pedestrian with his car Sunday while fleeing officers in Manhattan.

Police say they pulled William Hankerson over near the corner of West 43rd Street and Eighth Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

They say Hankerson sped off as the officers approached his car, and eventually hit a 26-year-old man near Columbus Circle.

That person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police finally caught up with Hankerson near East 79th Street and Park Avenue.

Charges against him include vehicular assault, reckless driving, and resisting arrest. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
