A 16-year-old skateboarder remains in serious condition after getting hit by a car Saturday in Brooklyn.

Police say the teen was riding near the corner of East 98th Street and Willmohr Street near his home in Brownsville when he was struck Saturday morning.

Investigators say it appears that the victim darted out on the street and that the woman driving the sedan could not stop in time.

The teen was taken to Kings County Hospital.

"All of a sudden, I heard a loud boom, and I noticed there was a body at the corner, and I rushed over there to see if he was OK," said one person. "The young man seemed to be unconscious, and it was like he got hit by a car."

"He was coughing up blood, spitting out blood," said another. "Just, the whole scene was crazy."

Police say the driver passed a breathalyzer test.

They're continuing to investigate.
