SUNY Downstate says it's received nine proposals that meet the minimum requirements to take over construction of Long Island College Hospital.
Following the agreement signed last month, SUNY said that the process would favor bidders who include a full-service emergency room, intensive care unit and at least 100 inpatient beds.
The deadline for proposals ended Wednesday.
SUNY put the minimum purchase price for the hospital at $210 million.
SUNY said that the requests for proposals will be scored and evaluated by a team of state government officials and representatives of community groups.
That evaluation should be completed by next Wednesday.
After that, it will go to the SUNY board for consideration.
It's not clear when the board will make its final decision.
