A proposal to install a bathroom along the Brighton Beach boardwalk has upset some residents leaving nearby.
The city wants to put a pre-fabricated bathroom in the same spot as one lost during Hurricane Sandy.
The restroom would be built on stilts protecting it from possible storm surges.
However, people living in the Oceana condos complex just behind the proposed bathroom want to see it moved down the road.
"It's not that they block the view its that these bathrooms fall right into your kitchen and living room, they fall right into your bedroom , it's horrendous," said one resident.
Others say the construction has already started and the neighborhood needs the restroom.
"They've already spent a considerable amount of money to put in the pilings, do the soil borings, the survey, etcetera to put the restroom in its old location," said one resident.
In the meantime, the parks department plans to install temporary bathrooms in the area for bathers this summer.
There are currently plans to build 35 structures like the Brighton beach one around the city.
Some will also include lifeguard stands and maintenance facilities.
