The price tag for the mayor's campaign for universal pre-kindergarten is approaching a quarter million dollars.
According to state filings with the Joint Commission on Public Ethics, the mayor's group, UPKNYC, spent nearly $222,000 in January and February.
The money was used to lobby the state legislature to approve the mayor's plan for universal pre-kindergarten.
Some of those expenses went to a rally held earlier this month and busing up supporters from the five boroughs.
The nonprofit is run by former campaign aides of the mayor. It doesn't have to file who is donating to it until July.
