The man arrested for beating a 1010 WINS radio anchor back in September has taken a plea deal, sources tell NY1.

The attack sent news anchor Brian Carey to the hospital last year with a broken jaw and eye socket.

NY1 is told 48-year-old Elton Anthony pleaded guilty to felony assault on Tuesday.

Sources say Anthony will serve five years in prison, followed by five years of supervision.

Investigators say Carey and Anthony had known each other for several years when they got in an argument in Carey's apartment.

Anthony told investigators Carey tried to stop him from leaving and that's when he began hitting Carey in the face.
