Police arrested a man from Newark Monday for allegedly starting a fire in Brooklyn that sent five people to the hospital early Sunday morning.

Thaddeus Boone, 22, is charged with arson and burglary, plus five counts of attempted murder and five counts of assault.

Police say he set the blaze that burned in a fifth-floor apartment in Boerum Hill.

Firefighters responded to the call around 2 a.m. Sunday and saved an adult and four children.

Two of the children were taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
