Police are asking for the public's help in their search for a suspect who tried to kidnap an 11-year-old boy in Queens yesterday.

Investigators say the boy was waiting to be picked up from school when the suspect seen in the sketch above approached him in a dark blue sedan.

They say the man told the boy to get in the car and when he said no, the man got out and tried to pull the boy into the car.

That's when the boy's father arrived and the man then sped off.

Police don't believe the suspect and boy knew each other.

The suspect is described as being 40 years old and between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
