FBI Agent Among First to Interrogate Sulaiman Abu Ghaith Testifies At His Trial

  • Text size: + -

Testimony continued Thursday in the terror trial of Osama bin Laden's son-in-law, as jurors heard from one of the FBI agents who first interrogated Sulaiman Abu Ghaith.

The agent testified that Abu Ghaith said when he met bin Laden in the summer of 2001, he had a hunch "something big was going to happen," but denied knowing anything about the September 11th attacks.

Abu Ghaith said that his father-in-law asked him to give sermons at the family compound and speak to potential recruits about the importance of defending Islam.

The agent said that Abu Ghaith was asked to make the videos for propaganda purposes to get them out to the media.

He has pleaded not guilty to conspiring to kill Americans and providing material support to al-Qaida.
