An elderly Brooklyn woman who police say was beaten by her son has died.

Investigators say 94-year-old Dorothy Farrell had severe injuries to her head and body when they found her inside her home on Burnett Street on March 3.

Officers say her son, Mark Farrell, was arrested that evening and is facing charges of attempted murder, felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The district attorney's office says the woman may have been beaten with a cane.

They say she had cuts on her face and fractures to her head, ribs and fingers.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

It's unclear if charges will be upgraded.
