New York State's Health Insurance Marketplace says that hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers have signed up for coverage through the service, and they expect thousands more to sign up by the March 31 deadline.
The Health Department says that as of Monday, 908,000 people have completed their application and 590,000 people have enrolled for coverage since the launch of the marketplace on October 1.
With the deadline looming, enrollment has increased by more than 55,000 in the last week alone.
More than 70 percent of those who have enrolled to date were previously uninsured.
They believe that New York is on track to meet or exceed its enrollment goal of 1.1 million people by the end of 2016.
