The hunt is on for a man who was caught on surveillance video punching another man in the face last weekend.

The surveillance video above shows a man in his 20s attacking 23-year-old Kyle Rogers just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Bowery between Rivington and Stanton Streets.

Police say the attack was random and nothing was taken.

Rogers suffered a broken jaw and was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

He says he's stunned by the violence.

"I mean, find something better to do with your life, you know, find a hobby or something, not, I don't know,” said Rogers.

People in the neighborhood who spoke to NY1 say the attack has them concerned.

"It frightens me very much, not only for me, but for my son. It's just a shame,” said one resident.

"I kind of feel someone right behind me, I just kind of turn around and look, you know what I mean, and if I see that they're going to try to make a jump or something, I just be alert,” said another.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
