The Department of Health is hosting a free clinic on Staten Island this weekend providing rabies vaccines to cats and dogs.

The department said that 2013 had the highest number of rabies cases since they began recording the data in 1992.

The clinic will be located at the Blue Heron Nature Center and will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9.

It will also offer dog licensing.

The clinic is also being sponsored by Animal Care and Control, the Blue Heron Nature Center and a handful of local lawmakers.
