The city and the FBI are investigating the spending of millions of dollars on improvements to the Queens Library.

The scrutiny focuses on Library Director Thomas Galante, who reportedly made nearly $400,000 last year, and renovations contracted to Frank Marino of Advanced Consulting Corporation.

Galante and Marino have ties to the same Long Island school district.

Since 2008, Marino has received contracts for 15 library improvement projects.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz asked Mayor Bill de Blasio to suspend the library's ability to independently spend city funds on renovations.

She said that in the past three years, the city has set aside more than $140 million to Queens libraries. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
