The schizophrenic man who allegedly killed a city psychotherapist with a meat cleaver six years ago is being re-tried yet again.
This is the third attempt by prosecutors to convict David Tarloff for the murder of Kathryn Faughey.
Tarloff admitted to killing Faughey while trying to rob her officemate in 2008, but his defense attorney says that he was too mentally unstable to be charged with murder.
Manhattan prosecutors, however, say that Tarloff knew exactly what he was doing.
Tarloff has claimed that he needed money to get his mother out of a nursing home.
The first trial in 2010 was thrown out because of Tarloff's unstable behavior.
The jury deadlocked last year in the first re-trial.
