Police are investigating after a man was found bound and shot to death early Friday morning above a bodega he owned in Brooklyn.

Sources say the daughter of 69-year-old Sergio Bosse asked a friend to check on her father because she had not heard from him.

The friend found Bosse dead in his apartment, which was above his bodega on Albany Avenue in East Flatbush.

Police Commissioner William Bratton says that he was tied up and had a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Locals were stunned.

"I was surprised when I came here," said one person. "We looked down and see the candles on the floor, and my heart just started racing."

"Older kids, they used to come up to me and they used to try to bully me, whatever, so I used to come to Serg, and he used to scare them away," said another.

"All the young guys, he watched everybody grow up from little to now they big," said a third. "It's sad that somebody would do something so horrible to him."

"I just hope they get the person," said a fourth. "I hope they take him down, and I hope justice is done."

Police are still investigating and have not determined yet whether to classify this as a homicide.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
