A section of West 97th Street in Manhattan will be renamed for a little girl killed in a traffic accident last year.

Ariel Russo, 4, was walking with her grandmother in June when she was struck at 97th and Amsterdam Avenue by a teenage driver who was fleeing police.

Now the city will rename 97th between Broadway and Amsterdam Ariel Russo Way.

The renaming ceremony will take place on March 10, which would have been Ariel's fifth birthday.
