Authorities were called to the scene of a building collapse in Brooklyn Wednesday.
It happened around 1 p.m. at a three-story building located at 1916 Prospect Place.
The Department of Buildings say that workers doing interior demolition work fell from the third floor to the first floor of the building.
Fire officials say eight people were seriously hurt.
They say none of the injuries are life-threatening.
The Department of Buildings has issued a stop work order for the building, as well as an order to demolish the building.
The site was also issued a violation for working without a permit.
Residents say that they've complained about the vacant and unstable building for a while now because they knew it was dangerous.
"Whole thing's unstable, because look at it. It's raggedy, it's rat-infested, it's real dangerous. It's not safe for us," said one resident.
NY1 has reached out to Rock Shore Construction Corporation for comment, but has not received a response so far.
