Potholes have been a nuisance for drivers all winter, but one hole was a much bigger problem for one unlucky driver in East Harlem.

Pictures of the accident, one of which is seen above, were sent to NY1 by Clark Pena.

It is still unclear whether it is a pothole or a sinkhole, but a local resident told NY1 that the crater has been growing for about two weeks.

Resident: It's from a construction being done with the city from the sewage system.
Q: Was it covered at one point?
Resident: Yes it was, and being that the cars kept running over it and the snow, it kept getting bigger and bigger."

A tow truck was able to pull the car out.
