New Yorkers are reveling in this weekend's reprieve from winter weather.
The official start to spring is still about a month away, but it's warmer than it's been in a while in the city as temperatures on Saturday reached into the low 50's.
NY1 spoke with some people in Central Park who were shedding the extra layers to exercise and have some fun while they can.
"I'm probably going to do like 15 miles so by the time we finish it should be actually warm," said one runner.
Pedi-cab drivers also rejoiced, hoping the mounds of snow around Central Park would melt along with their troubles while members of the New York Athletic Club's rugby team were eager to get back to their normal workout, at least for now.
"It's really hard to pedal in the snow because the park goes up and down," said one pedi-cab driver.
"Since December we've been struggling to get out here. The snow's just been deep and it's been pretty cold, but yeah we're really happy to get back into the park," said one rugby player.
While it may be nice out this weekend, city dwellers will not want to put away those winter coats just yet. Winter is expected to re-appear next week with the possibility of some more snow.
