The roof of a CVS building partially collapsed in the Bronx Wednesday afternoon.
Fire officials say that the roof of the CVS, which is located on Burke Avenue in Olinville, partially collapsed shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday
Firefighters say employees heard a creaking noise and saw tiles falling from the roof of the store.
The assistant manager got all seven customers and eight employees out of the store before the roof started coming down.
The Department of Buildings says that further investigations will reveal if the collapse was weather-related.
The FDNY says that it's a possibility.
"This particular building was built in 1954, and they don't stand up well to a heavy, heavy snowload," said Deputy Assistant Chief James Daly of the FDNY. "So real good job by the store employees recognizing these warning signs and getting the people out."
Firefighters say that CVS already hired a private contractor to demolish the building.
CVS says that anyone needing to collect their prescriptions can go to their store on 7-32 Allerton Avenue.
