Commuters will soon be catching a new type of connection on the subway.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Wednesday rolled out the next phase of underground installations to provide wireless and Wi-Fi service in the city's subway stations.

The first stations to be hooked up are in Midtown Manhattan, including 42nd Street Grand Central, 34th Street Herald Square, and Bryant Park.

Starting in March, work will begin to bring wireless and Wi-Fi connections to subways across the entire borough of Queens.
