"Jazz at Lincoln Center's" Ertegun Jazz Hall of Fame is welcoming four new members to its distinguished ranks.

Guitarist Wes Montgomery, singer Betty Carter, drummer Elvin Jones and bandleader Fletcher Henderson have been voted in by jazz fans worldwide.

Montgomery is an influence for many modern jazz guitarists, while Jones provided the beat for the band of legendary saxophonist John Coltrane.

Carter is best known for her scat style of singing, and Henderson's band is credited by some for helping create swing music.

Forty-five members have been inducted into the Jazz Hall of Fame since 2004.
