Three people were injured, and residents were forced out of their apartment building, after a fire Monday in Brownsville.
Officials say it took firefighters a little more than an hour to bring the three-alarm blaze under control.
Three people, including two firefighters, were taken to Brookdale Hospital with minor injuries.
Building residents are now left wondering about the shape of their apartment and the cause of the fire.
"I didn't really hear anything about what happened, really," said Dolwin Warner, a resident of the building. "Just that when I came outside, I see smoke, smoke on the lefthand side of the building. I don't know which apartment. If it's an apartment, I don't know what it's about. I don't know if it's an apartment, if it's some kind of wire on the side or not. I don't know."
The Red Cross says that at least four apartments were directly affected by the fire.
It also says it's providing emergency housing to those who need it.
