Three people were taken to the hospital Monday after a fire ripped through a house in Brooklyn.

Firefighters say they got the call to 766 East 48th Street in East Flatbush just before 11 a.m.

They say flames spread to two floors of the house, as well as the attic, by the time they arrived on scene.

"After smelling the smoke, my daughter ran in, and then, we looked around the corner, there was burning on the side of the driveway, and before you know it, it shooted straight up," said Jancie Euba-Ashton, a resident displaced by the fire.

Josh Ashton, fire victim: My father, he just went to the hospital, and so did my brother.
Q: Is everyone OK?
Ashton: Yeah, everyone's OK. Everyone got out safe, but I couldn't save anything.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
