Police are looking for a man that they say tried to steal thousands of dollars worth of pants from a Midtown Gap store.

Investigators released the above picture of the alleged suspect, who they say entered the store on February 3.

They say security confronted the man after they saw him try and steal several pairs of ladies' pants valued at $2,000 from a display area.

Police say the man ran off, disappearing into a nearby subway station.

He is described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 235 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black military flight jacket and beige slacks.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
