Police are looking into why a car fell off the Cross Bronx Expressway and landed on the Bruckner Expressway Monday afternoon.
Authorities say the 2007 Toyota Matrix was traveling westbound on the Cross Bronx Expressway extension at around 3:30 p.m. when it drove off the extension and landed on the Bruckner Expressway service road near Brush Avenue.
According to authorities, the driver and a passenger in the car were hurt, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police say the crash is still under investigation, but it is believed that the car might have hit a patch of ice and fallen approximately 100 feet.
Both people in the car were taken to Jacobi Medical Center.
