Two days after declaring that the city is in the middle of a blood shortage, the mayor donated a little of his own Friday.

De Blasio and the city's first lady gave blood at the city offices on Gold Street in Lower Manhattan.

During a news conference on Wednesday, de Blasio asked New Yorkers to help replenish the city's supply.

He said that the shortage was brought about by the recent string of winter storms.
