The mother of a 2-year-old girl who was found unconscious in her Queens home Monday and later died is facing a murder charge.

The Queens district attorney is charging 28-year-old Ashley Diaz with second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

Police say they found Kevasia Edwards unconscious in her home on Beach 56th Place in Arverne just before midnight.

The medical examiner determined the child suffered abusive head trauma along with multiple violent impacts to her body.

According to the D.A., Diaz said that Kevasia had a seizure, fell to the ground and became unresponsive, but she sat by her daughter and didn't call for help for more than an hour.

Kevasia was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Medical officials say that the extent of the child's injuries were not consistent with a seizure.

Diaz faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Police say four other children lived in the home and are now in ACS care.
