Friends, fans, and the theater community remembered actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Wednesday.

Broadway went dark for a moment to pay tribute to the late actor's contributions to the stage.

Meanwhile, hundreds gathered for a vigil in Greenwich Village.

One friend said it was an opportunity for those who admired Hoffman to celebrate him.

"We're just here to celebrate his life. It's a personal loss for some of us, but it's a real collective loss for many," said actress Daphne Rubin-Vega. "The fact that he's just so brilliant, and that is shared by so many, is why we're here today."

Meanwhile, three of the four people arrested on drug charges following an investigation into Hoffman's death appeared before a judge Wednesday.

Robert Vineberg was arraigned on felony drug charges.

Max Rosenblum and Juliana Luchkiw were charged with misdemeanors for cocaine possession.

After the court appearance, lawyers representing the suspects spoke to the media.

"This arrest and these charges have absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Hoffman's unfortunate death," said Edward Kratt, Vineberg's attorney.

All three were taken into custody Tuesday night.

Sources tell NY1 that a fourth person who was also arrested that night is not being charged.

The Associated Press is reporting that at least one of the individuals had Hoffman's cellphone number.
