Every New Yorker thinks they're an expert on the subway system, but more than a few of those experts met their match at the Transit Museum's transit trivia night. NY1's Jose Martinez filed the following report.

Quick, what's the highest subway station in the city? And what are the four bus lines that run up Madison Avenue?

It was trivia night at the Transit Museum on Wednesday, with close to 200 bus, train and subway know-it-alls packing into the old Court Street station that houses the museum to prove that they really do know it all.

"Who are all these people who know so much about the transit system? I think they're a bunch of nerds, to be honest," said one contestant.

They proudly showed that off with team names sure to get a snicker out of these unapologetic transit nerds: The Budget Overruns, State of Good Repair and the IR Team.

"I grew up on the 2 line, so I'm really good with that one, but I have no idea what happens on the D after DeKalb," said one participant. "I think there are a few people who know way too much."

"So many people in new York take the subway, take buses every day and know so much about it," said Eli Rumpf of the New York Transit Museum. "So it's kind of a chance for us to open up the museum to all the experts."

That's how you pack this crowd into the Transit Museum. The beer and snacks certainly didn't hurt, either.

Oh and about those earlier questions? The answers are Smith-Ninth Streets in Brooklyn and the M1, M2, M3 and M4. But they knew that already.

Sure, you might feel like a transit know-it-all because you helped some lost tourist on a subway platform, but you're really no match for these guys. You can try again next year when the Transit Museum hosts trivia night once again.
