State gaming officials seem to be behind schedule on appointing their new casino board, but they say they're still on track to meet the deadline for processing new casino applications.
Governor Andrew Cuomo wanted the board to be created by the end of this month, but the gaming commission says they're still evaluating candidates and that members will be selected soon.
Cuomo said they expect to meet the governor's March deadline for requesting casino applications.
Voters passed a constitutional amendment to allow Las Vegas-style casinos in November.
The state can now award up to four casino licenses upstate.
