Police are searching for a man who pulled off an elaborate robbery that started in the Bronx and ended in New Jersey.
Investigators say the suspect approached another man on East 188th Street around 7 p.m. back on January 14.
They say he took out a gun and asked for the victim's money, debit card and personal information.
Police say the suspect then ran away, but contacted the victim the next day and demanded they meet.
They say the two men drove to New Jersey, where the victim was forced to deposit forged checks into his bank account.
Police say the suspect then withdrew the money from a different bank and let the other man go unharmed.
He's described as being 5'9" tall and weighing 135 pounds.
