The MTA says fare-beating is way down on five Select Bus Service lines, thanks to officers from the agency who flag those trying to ride for free.
A new report from the agency says fare beating on the Bx12 plunged by 80 percent, and by 73 percent on the Bx41 since the introduction of the MTA's Eagle Team.
Three other lines also reported significant drops in fare-beating thanks to officers on the buses in search of those who boarded without paying.
Riders on Select Bus Service lines pay fares before boarding and can enter from any door of the bus.
But the report also points out that the officers have mostly taught riders how to use the payment system on the speedier bus lines.
