Fans are going batty over a piece of memorabilia from one of the most memorable moments of the 2000 World Series between the Yankees and Mets.

The broken bat of Mets catcher Mike Piazza that was picked up and thrown at him by Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens is hitting the auction block.

Dallas-based Heritage Auctions says the barrel of the bat has been in the possession of then-Yankees strength and conditioning coach Jeff Mangold.

The incident nearly led to a benches-clearing brawl.

Bidding on the bat opened last week and currently sits at almost $5,000.

The auction house says the price could top $10,000 by the time a live auction takes place here in the city on February 22.
