Sources tell NY1 that a 76-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a car Thursday morning while crossing the street in Harlem.

Sources say the man was walking along Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard near 125th Street around 10:30 a.m. when he was struck by a Toyota Camry.

Sources tell NY1 that the man may have actually slipped on ice and fallen, and the driver may not have seen him because of that.

The man was taken St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition.

The driver stayed on the scene.
