A man was injured Wednesday afternoon after ice fell from a Midtown building.
Witnesses say the man was walking on 48th Street when the ice fell directly onto his face.
They say he was badly cut but remained conscious while waiting for an ambulance.
"A piece of ice fell. Then, he looked up and said, 'They should do something about this.' Then, he looked up again, and it just hit him in the face," said witness Onikwa Thomas. "He was conscious, he was talking, he was fine. He was talking, just a little shooken up."
The New York City Fire Department says the man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
