A police station in Clinton Hill is now an official city landmark.

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Committee voted to make the 88th precinct stationhouse on Classon Avenue a landmark.

The committee said that the "fortress-like station house is one of the finest in the borough."

The building was commissioned back when Brooklyn was still an independent city.

It was designed by George Ingram and completed in 1890.

The stationhouse joins more than 31,000 buildings and sites that have earned landmark status since the committee's creation in 1965. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
