Police are investigating two deadly crashes on Manhattan's Upper West Side that happened at crossings just a couple streets apart and within an hour of each other Friday night.
Police say 73-year-old Alexander Shear was trying to cross 96th Street at Broadway when he was hit and killed by a private tour bus at around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
About 30 minutes later, police say a 51-year-old man and his child, 9-year-old Cooper Stock, were crossing West 97th Street at West End Avenue when they were hit by a taxi cab.
The young boy was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His father suffered a leg injury.
Both the driver of the bus and cab stayed on scene.
No charges have been filed, and the investigations are ongoing.
