Overnight road closures on the Bayonne Bridge are being postponed because of the weather.

They're being pushed off until Wednesday night, when temperatures are not expected to be as brisk.

The bridge will be closed in both directions from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday night, and from midnight Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.

The work will stretch into February with other weekly closures.

It's part of a $1.2 billion "Raise the Roadway" project, which will not only create wider lanes and a bike and pedestrian path, but will also allow larger ships to pass under the bridge. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
