Defeated Republican mayoral candidate and former MTA head Joe Lhota has been appointed chief of staff at New York University's Langone Medical Center.
NYU says he will be responsible for managing activities at the academic medical center and will serve as an adviser on policy and management issues.
He will also oversee the hospital's emergency preparedness and business plans.
Lhota released a statement saying is excited about the opportunity and his future at NYU Langone.
He is taking over for Anthony Shorris, who's now deputy mayor in the de Blasio administration.
