The city's first baby of 2014 was born in Brooklyn at the stroke of midnight.

Shannon-Lee Willis came into the world at Methodist Hospital in Park Slope exactly at 12 a.m. Wednesday.

The seven-pound, three-ounce baby girl was born to Samantha Nieves and Shannon Willis, who live in Crown Heights.

Meanwhile, the first baby born in Manhattan in 2014 was born at Mount Sinai Hospital at 12:10 a.m.

Born to Joel Merlos and Sharon Cuestas of East Harlem, Janelle weighs eight pounds and two ounces.

"When she was fully dilated to pushing, she did it in like half an hour," said Dr. Nabila Noor of Mt. Sinai Hospital. "She was a rock star."

"I'm happy that I was finally was able to push her out," Cuestas said. "Ten hours of labor. It was pretty hard. It was not easy, but I'm happy I started the New Year good with a blessing." ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
