White House officials say that more than 1.1 million people are now enrolled for health care through the federal government's improved website.
Nearly 1 million enrolled this month before the Christmas Eve deadline to enroll in time for coverage by the new year.
The numbers are still way below what the administration predicted, but they are a huge leap from October, when only about 27,000 people signed up during the site's problem-plagued debut.
Since then, federal officials rolled out a number of fixes to the site to increase its capacity.
The Obama administration didn't release data on the 14 states, including New York, that run their own web sites.
